Creme De Cassis

General Description

Crème de cassis is a sweet blackcurrant liqueur, intensely fruity and dark-berry-like with a slightly tart, tannic edge. It’s a “crème” style liqueur, meaning high sugar and viscosity.

It’s famous with sparkling wine (Kir Royale) and also works with gin or vodka when you want deep berry without relying on juice. Compared with raspberry liqueur, cassis is darker, more winey, and more concentrated.

Reference Product

Mathilde Cassis

Mathilde Cassis delivers bright, genuine blackcurrant fruit without the cough-syrup sweetness that plagues cheaper brands. The berry character is concentrated and tannic—more like actual cassis than artificial flavoring. In a Kir Royale, the difference is immediately obvious: clean fruit rather than purple sugar water. It's reasonably priced for the quality and works beautifully with sparkling wine, gin, or vodka.
