Sweet Vermouth

General Description

Sweet vermouth is a fortified, aromatized wine that’s sweetened and typically darker in color, often with caramelized richness plus botanicals like wormwood, herbs, and spices. It brings both sweetness and herbal complexity.

Compared with dry vermouth, it’s rounder, richer, and more dessert-spice leaning. In Manhattans and Negronis it provides the sweet-herbal counterweight that makes the drink feel complete.

Cocchi Vermouth di Torino

Cocchi Vermouth di Torino is many bartenders' preferred sweet vermouth. It has a rich, bittersweet complexity with cocoa and dried fruit notes that elevate Manhattans and Negronis. The quality is excellent but the price is reasonable. As with all vermouth, refrigerate after opening and use within a month or two—it's wine, and freshness matters.
