Angostura Bitters

General Description

Angostura bitters are a concentrated bitters product (high-proof) built around gentian and a proprietary blend of spices and botanicals. It’s intensely aromatic—think clove, cinnamon, allspice, and dark baking spice—used in dashes, not pours.

It doesn’t read as “sweet” on its own; it reads as structure. In drinks it adds dryness, spice, and a tightening effect that makes spirits taste more dimensional and “finished,” especially in classics like an Old Fashioned or Manhattan.

Angostura Aromatic Bitters

Angostura is the original aromatic bitters and remains the standard. The distinctive oversized label has been on bars for over 150 years for good reason: the spice-forward, gentian-bitter profile defines what aromatic bitters should taste like. These bottles last for years since you use them in dashes, so one purchase sets you up indefinitely. Essential for Old Fashioneds, Manhattans, and countless other classics.
